Pendragon Forms VI - Troubleshooting
"Authentication failed. No such user or password incorrect." in
Pendragon Transfer Agent
Pendragon Forms VI creates a special account on the Staging Server for
administration purposes. This account is called dtadmin,
and the password is normally set automatically by the installer.
The Pendragon Transfer Agent knows this password, and uses it to provide you
with a control panel. It also uses the password to distribute your forms.
If the password on the server is out of sync with the password in the
Pendragon Transfer Agent, you may see the error message above.
You may also see this error message if the dtadmin account on the server has
the wrong settings.
Resolving the Error
-
On the Start Menu, choose Pendragon Forms VI - Staging Server Data.
This will open phpMyAdmin in your browser. phpMyAdmin allows you to see
the MySQL Server database running on your PC.
-
In phpMyAdmin, click the formsvi link at the top right.
-
On the right, you'll see a list of tables. Click on the browse icon to
the right of the table called user_list.
This
will show you the list of users. You will see the user you created
during installation, and also the dtadmin user.
-
Check that the dtadmin user has admin
set to 1 and active set to 0. If these values are
not correct, click the pencil icon next to dtadmin and
change the values accordingly.
-
Make a note of the dtadmin password.
-
Open the Pendragon Transfer Agent, and click the Setup
button on the right.
-
Go to the Remote Admin tab, and retype the password
from the note you made in step 5. Click OK.
