Pendragon Forms VI - Remote Server Configuration
Here
is the recommended procedure for setting up your Pendragon Forms VI Staging
Server at a remote ISP (Internet Service Provider) server. It's possible
that some ISP configurations might need a custom procedure, but we think the
following approach is the best starting point.
-
Download our latest installer by
downloading the Evaluation version.
-
Install this on your PC so that the
staging server is running locally on your PC.
-
On your web server, make sure you have
PHP 5.2 or higher and MySQL.
-
Create a folder on the root of your web
server called "formsvi"
-
Copy all the files from your
C:\Users\Public\FormsVI\UniServer\www\formsvi
folder up to the formsvi folder on your web server.
-
Open the file
C:\Users\Public\FormsVI\UniServer\www\formsvi\provision.php
using a text editor (e.g., Notepad).
You
will see a password that was generated for your local database user
account. Write this down.
-
Create a MySQL database on the server
called "formsvi"
-
Create a MySQL user account for the
formsvi database called "formsvi". Set the password to the password
that was in the provision.php
file.
-
At this point, you should be able to
navigate to your remote server and visit the Forms VI page:
http://myserver.com/formsvi
You will see a link to
INSTALL/RUN. Click the link.
-
The next step is to setup the initial
user accounts.
Open your browser to
http://myserver.com/formsvi/data.php?action=remote
You will be prompted for three pieces of information. A new admin
password, a first device account name, and the password for that first
device account.
Type in the information, then click the
Initialize button.
-
Finally, open your Pendragon Transfer
Agent, and click on the Setup button. Go to the Remote Admin tab. Type
in the URL for your remote formsvi folder. The Forms VI username will
remain "dtadmin", but change the password to the admin password you
entered in step (10):

At this point, you can try to distribute forms and synchronize data.
